Frequently Asked Questions
CBD, or cannabidiol, works with a system in our body called the Endocannabinoid System, or ECS. The ECS is composed of our own internal cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids, and receptors. The two receptors in the ECS are CB1, mainly found in the brain and nervous system, and CB2, which are primarily in the gut and immune system. The ECS is intertwined with all systems of the body, and works to promote overall balance or homeostasis within.
When we supply the ECS with cannabinoids from plants, or phytocannabinoids, it can work to better utilize our own internally produced endocannabinoids and promote stability in the systems it coordinates.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a cannabinoid found in hemp that has shown many therapeutic applications and benefits. Unlike THC, CBD does not produce a “high” and will not alter your mental state.
Hemp extract is a concentration of all components of the hemp plant. This extract includes cannabinoids, terpenes, plant sterols, fatty acids, flavonoids, and essential vitamins and nutrients.
The hemp extract used in our products contains many cannabinoids, with the highest concentration being CBD, or cannabidiol.
Our hemp extract contains roughly 75% cannabidiol, with the additional 25% being composed of the other essential parts of the hemp plant.
Broad spectrum CBD oil, unlike CBD isolate products, includes a wide range of cannabinoids present in the cannabis or hemp plant. ... Broad spectrum CBD also contains a variety of essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, protein, chlorophyll, terpenes, flavonoids, and fiber. And NO THC
Medical marijuana, or medical cannabis, is specifically grown and manipulated to contain high concentrations of THC. Our products are made using hemp, which the US classifies as any cannabis plant containing under 0.3% THC by dry weight.
We use a CO2 extraction process to obtain our crude oil, then follow with a second HPLC extraction method to remove THC without removing any other beneficial portions of the extract.
No. Our products are THC free and do not contain any psychotoxic or intoxicating components.
The most common potential side effects of hemp-derived CBD products are drowsiness, lethargy, lowered blood pressure, dry mouth, and lightheadedness. Always consult with your physician before adding to your health and wellness regimen.
While we are not doctors and do not claim to be, we always recommend starting with a small amount and building if needed. Always take your CBD at the same time every day and evaluate how you are feeling after about five days. If you feel more is necessary to address your concerns, increase your amount for the following five days, and so on.
Keep in mind that more is not always better, so starting with a lower concentration product when determining your unique serving requirement is the most cost-effective option. If you find that you are going through a lower strength product faster than estimated, you may need to make a change to a higher strength.
The tinctures are to be placed under the tongue and held there for about one minute, and then swallowed. This process is necessary in order for the oil to be absorbed by the small blood vessels in the mouth, ensuring a faster method of action than absorption through digestion alone.
The shelf life on our products is 12-18 months, unopened.
We recommend storing the products in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight. The Gummies are subject to melting if exposed to extreme temperature changes.
We always provide third-party testing Certificates of Analysis (COA) on our products to prove potency and show proof of no residual solvents or pesticides in the final product. These can always be found on our Lab Results.
Types of CBD Oil
Three types of CBD oil
Understanding the difference between the three major types of CBD oil is one of the most important first steps on your CBD journey.
The three most popular types of CBD oil used today are: Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Isolate.
Full Spectrum products contain CBD as well as terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN and trace amounts of THC.
Broad Spectrum products contain an array of cannabinoids and terpenes but zero THC.
Isolate products will have nothing but CBD in them because the CBD has literally been isolated from everything else.
Difference Between Hemp and Marijana
You've probably heard the terms cannabis, marijuana, and hemp all tossed around in relation to CBD. The cannabis plant has two primary species, hemp and marijuana. Both contain CBD, but there's a much higher percentage in hemp, which also has very low (less than 0.3%) levels of THC compared to marijuana.
HempXtra is a vertically integrated company so we supply our own Hemp Plants from our farms here in the USA. With our specially developed cross bread hemp plants we are producing Hemp plants that provide maximum CBD from each plant.
That combined with our extraction method offers more potent CBD we are around 85%.
A lot of CBD companies are getting their hemp from cover seas, where the quality is not near the same. Their potency is around 25%
Methods used to extract the CBD from the hemp plant
The Olive Oil Extraction Method
This technique results in cannabis-infused oil, not pure cannabis extract.
The Dry Ice Extraction Method
Ice water extraction creates a powdery resin extract often referred to as “hash” or “bubble hash.”
The Solvent Extraction Method
This simple extraction method works by using ethanol as a solvent to remove extracts from cannabis plant trimmings.
The CO2 Method
In simple terms, CO2 cannabis extraction uses pressurized carbon dioxide (CO2) to pull CBD from the plant. CO2 acts like a solvent at certain temperatures and pressures but possesses none of the dangers. While it is safe and effective, it also involves extremely expensive equipment.
HempXtra uses the CO2 method for extraction along with proprietary steps ensuring a quality THC free broad spectrum product
Benifits of CBD
Check out some of the possible benefits from taking CBD. Check back as we update this section often as the benefits of CBD can affect your life in many ways.
Inflammation / Arthritis
Cannabidiol oil continues to be a source of relief for many rheumatoid arthritis sufferers. Instead of relying on THC, the CBD oil works on two powerful receptors to decrease pain. CB1 and CB2 are the main receptors responsible for controlling anti-inflammatory effects on the body. Luckily, the CBD does not produce any mental side effects so you can solely rely on the CBD oil for relief with your rheumatoid arthritis.
CBD And Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder that causes musculoskeletal pain in addition to fatigue and cognitive issues. There’s no cure for this condition. Treatment options focus on pain management. CBD has been used to treat chronic pain symptoms and reduce inflammation. It’s considered to be an alternative to taking addictive opioid prescriptions.
The major symptom of many short and long-term illnesses is pain, both chronic and acute. … Preliminary studies suggest the use of CBD in chronic pain management to be useful, allowing an increase in quality of life and the ability to rest without pain.
Anxiety and depression are pathologies that affect human beings in many aspects of life, including social life, productivity, and health. There is evidence that suggests that CBD oil may be an effective intervention for the ongoing management of anxiety disorders. Those with anxiety disorders who fail to derive benefit from traditional pharmacology and/or who are unable to tolerate standard pharmacological treatments may want to consider administration of CBD oil on an ongoing or “as-needed” basis.
CBD For Depression
Common treatments for depression include psychotherapy, medication, group therapy, and brain stimulation therapy. More recently, however, more and more people who suffer from depression are turning to CBD to treat their depression.
